The handbag I really really really want right now is Louis Vuitton’s Soft Lockit bag. I am most definitely completely head over heels in LOOOOOVEEEE with this handbag. It was love at first sight. I first saw the bag in the ad campaign featuring the ever so chic Michelle Williams. Upon further investigation about Louis Vuitton’s new collection I discovered that:
1. The Soft Lockit handbag comes in different fun colors (yay!)
2. It is not available for purchase yet (wa wa wah)
3. There’s a waiting list for it (ALREADY?!)
4. It is incredibly pricey (totally expected that)
For those of you not in the know, this is Nicholas Ghesquiere (who formerly worked at Balenciaga) first collection as artistic director for Louis Vuitton. Marc Jacobs, who had been at the helm of Louis Vuitton for 16 years, resigned as creative director for the luxury brand. Marc Jacobs past Vuitton’s collections have been super successful so you know Nicholas Ghesquiere has big shoes to fill, and he did, & oh so well. The Soft Lockit collection is the first of many more to come for Mr. Ghesquiere, and I say he’s up to a fabulous start with his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The Lockit handbag was first introduced by Louis Vuitton in 1958, so is a classic staple handbag for the brand. The handbag is priced around $4,250 and it comes in 5 different colors: Noir (black), Galet (beige), Magnolia (pink), Framboise (red) and Quetsche (purple). I would buy mine in GALET!!! Below, see some pics of the bag, in all of its beauty!
